This is so cool! I've made a couple of these baskets before using Lopi or White Buffalo, but this is the first time I've used Manos del Uruguay. It's awesome. It's a good thing I used a short cycle on the washing machine because this is the result. Here are before and after pics with my 15 cm (6 inch) needle gauge for scale. If you want to try this yourself I highly recommend that you buy this book:

I saw Stephanie's post and thought that I would show off my Rumple/Angel scarf too! Too bad you can't feel it. It is so soft but the Rumple has such a great texture too. Really, Fleece Artist and Handmaiden yarns are such a bargain!
Yesterday my best friend Reva came over and we went outside and had lots of fun taking pictures of - yup - more hats! Really, it's not that I only knit hats. Au contraire, I knit all kinds of things, although baby hats are a favourite bus project. So without further ado, I present...
Hari's Hat
(sshh - it's a surprise)

Baby Hari's hat is my own design, made of Lanett Superwash, using a green/blue/red/yellow variegated and a solid orange-red for the diagonal lines. Very fall-ish, I think. Still needs a tassel.
Easter Hat

Also done in Lanett Superwash, but without earflaps and with a picot edge. Using three colours on the top was tricky, but it looks good, no?
Last one...
Leafy Summer Hat

A lacy, leafy, summer number in Stork cotton (Dale). The top is decorated with short I-cord "vines" finished with tiny leaves.

Well, the hat isn't actually for Natalie, she has ordered a hat and matching mitts (not done yet) for a babe yet-to-be. The hat still needs a tassel.
The design is my own, but the hat pattern is based on the Danish Earflap Hat in Hats On! by Charlene Schurch (Down East Books, 1999).
And thanks to Ann I was tickled to receive a weeks worth of welcome
To everyone who asked about Emma's Hat, the design is my own. I'm flattered that you all liked it. Here is a picture of it on Emma. High five!
