May, June, and July - where did they go?
Yeah, yeah, I know - long time no blog. Whatever. Onward.

After the trip to Vancouver there was a very short trip to the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival. I took no pictures but others did and blogged about them long ago. I bought nothing, partly due to the conspicuous lack of an ATM on the festival site. But I did not go home empty-handed because Norma had brought me a beautiful Polwarth fleece that she had washed herself! What a gal! Thanks Norma! Thanks Kim!
It was great to see everyone, but driving to NH and back in one day (1140 km; 712 mi) is definitely NOT recommended. Next year I will plan better and make a nice weekend of it.

A wonderful "Trees" mitten kit from Leena.

The yarn is 100% Finnsheep wool. Very, very nice.

The browns are undyed and the two green shades were dyed with Paxillus atrotomentosus.
I have knit one mitten minus the thumb but don't seem to have taken a picture yet. Well, plenty of time for that before mitten weather gets here. I hope.
June 2

No record of knitting in June, just this nice rainbow over the ugly houses where the forest used to be.
June 24
Can you guess which of these kids "graduating" from grade 6 is mine?

July 3-13
Youngest child and I did Bluesfest! What a lineup they had this year! I saw: The Tragically Hip, Zappa Plays Zappa, Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo, James Taylor, Fergie (gag me with a spoon), Great Big Sea, Joan Armatrading, and last, but not least, Don McLean.
July 11
In preparation for our upcoming road trip I bought a new camera! I tested it out in my parent's back yard. It's awesome.

As for that road trip, well, it's getting late so y'all come back tomorrow for that story. But here's a teaser...

GOOD stuff. Looks like MiniMills? Just a guess. PEI? Love the mitten kit.
That is a hella yummy mitten kit!!!
It's good to hear from you and as to 'where did they go?'.. apparently they're still 'going' for me :^)
That mitten kit is gorgeous, love those natural colours. I'll have to check them out, take a look/see. Yay on the Bluesfest! I've heard some great praises on Polwarth fibre, that sweet Norma.
Those ARE some great photos taken with your new camera, your folks have some beautiful flowers in their backyard.
That's one big carding machine there.
XOXOX
Welcome back! The mitten kit looks wonderful, and what great colours!
And ugly houses where the forest used to be ... I hear you.
I'm so glad to hear from you!
Hey Paula, I am glad you surfaced again. Can't wait to see those mitts. Coming to the knitout?
I LOVE those mitten kits. I have two, and I keep pulling them out to pet them. I haven't started one yet, but they may be the next project I work on. Just a totally groovy project in such a small package. And ooo. Is that a carding machine?
Good to see you posting again. :)
